Duties

The Administration Department, under the supervision of the County Manager, provides direction and supervision of all departments under the Board of Commissioners general control.

Responsibilities


  • Serves as a liaison to the Board of Commissioners, county departments, and citizens.
  • Oversees the development and administration of the annual budget.
  • Develops strategies for improving public services.

In October of 2021, the Nash County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to name Stacie Shatzer as the next county managerShatzer, who began working for Nash County in 2000, became the first woman to hold the county manager position.

Grants & Intergovernmental Relations

The Grants and Intergovernmental Relations Office is located within the Administration Department and focuses on bringing in grant funds to further the goals of the Board of Commissioners.  They also administer programs from home rehabilitation to citizen involvement.
